Teach the Canyoneer Initiation (CAI) to all you customers?

Objective

Have all the required skills to teach the ICOpro Canyoneer Initiation (CAI). Master rigging skills, progression techniques and group management techniques. Be able to implement rescue techniques from above and below.  Have an excellent understanding of risk management, decision making and safety standards. Manage the equipment, Assistants and have the skills to become a Head Manager of an ICOpro affiliated centre.

Duration

  • Pre-training course e-learning; 4 days
  • Instructor Lvl1 Training Course: 10 days

Pre-requisites

  • Have validated AIN or have attended ICOpro IVS
  • Have a minimum of a 3-month work experience as an Assistant Instructor in a canyoning centre or with an IAI (mandatory employer’s certificate).
  • Have completed IN1 e-learning pre-training course.
  • Be in good mental and physical condition.
  • Swimming: 100m and running: 1km
  • Medical certificate issued less than three months prior to the training course, testifying that the trainee is physically and mentally fit for canyoning activities.
  • Have a valid first-aid certificate issued less than twelve months prior to the training course.
  • Pass successfully the « ICOpro IN1 test of conversion » on double rope free method in a time less than or equal to 1,5 TIME THE EXA TIME High 5m, knot in a middle of the rope
    Ascent → Passing a knot → Conversion → Descent → Passing a knot. Or 
    Descent → Passing a knot → Conversion → Ascent → Passing a knot 
    !!! The candidate will not attend the training if the test is not successful and no refunds will be given.
  • Pass successfully the « ICOpro IN1 Resque Scenario Test » Unhook a victim conscious from below to below 1,5 TIME EXA TIME.

The training course consists of 5 technical and theoretical training modules, including evaluation and feedback.

  • Module 1: ICOpro Procedures – General knowledge
  • Module 2: White water – assistance
  • Module 3: Rigging – Rescue
  • Module 4: ICOpro Psychology – Pedagogy (teaching)
  • Module 5: Practical Assessments

Price

The price for the course is £1790. We are happy to offer a payment plan, and take payments up to one month before the start of the course.

Participant Record

The Participant Record is a registration document for the course which includes the Contract and Cancellation Policies this document can be found below. It is mandatory to complete this Participant Record and return it to The Canyoning Company prior to making any payment after registering for the course.

Payment 

To complete registration for the course, we require a deposit of £700. This deposit is non refundable based on the conditions outlined in the Participant Record

Full payment for the course must be completed at least 1 month (30 days) prior to the start of the course.

For the IN1 course, The Canyoning Company will accept cash, check, bank transfer, or pay pal transfer (if paying from outside the UK)

We are happy to look at payment plans, pay back options or installments with you also.

Equipment:

The Canyoning Company, as the course organizer, will provide all the necessary group equipment for the course. A an aspirant professional you will be expected to provide all your own personal technical equipment. We are aware that if you are traveling from abroad it may be easier for you to wetsuits whilst on the course. Equipment is always available for purchase before, during and after course at a discounted rate.

Accommodation 

Accommodation during the course is in addition to the course fee. You are responsible for organizing your own accommodation during the course.

We have a bunkhouse with 12 beds, when available, we have special course price of £20per person per night.  Other accommodation options are best found in Dunkeld or Birnam, Pitlochry or surrounding area. Here are some accommodation providers in the area, but please feel free to contact us about more options I.e camping etc.

Food 

Snacks and drinks will be provided during the course, we can organise lunches on the course around £5 per day. You are responsible for all other meals outside of this.

Transportation

During the course, all transport will be provided by The Canyoning Company. We will also offer a complimentary pick-up/drop-off to/from Edinburgh or Glasgow airport.

If you’re happy with everything, fill out the attached Participant Record and return it to us. Once received, we will arrange a payment for the course deposit.
